The CH338 Dining Table, designed for 6 people, is a longer version of Hans J. Wegner’s CH337 4-person dining table from 1962. Like the CH337, the CH338 has an elliptical-shaped tabletop that can be extended with leaves when more seats are needed. The CH338I insert leaf is sold separately.
Danish furniture designer Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) is considered one of the most creative, innovative, and prolific designers of all times, renowned for his precision, great insight into craftsmanship and uncompromising approach to design. Wegner designed nearly 500 chairs in his lifetime and was often referred to as the master of the chair.
A well thought out dining table with many possibilities
The CH338 dining table, designed for 6 people, is an extended version of Hans J. Wegner’s CH337 dining table from 1962. With its softly curved solid wood tabletop, the table has a unifying feel and, with up to 14 seats, it is suitable for meetings and larger family gatherings. CH338 is the middle-sized of three tables in the same design. All have elliptical tabletops with transverse grains and extensions which can be pulled apart and extended with up to four leaves. The series also includes CH337 and CH339.
