A sense of comfort

Experience Mads Odgård's MO series of ligthing

The MO Series of lighting

The MO Series of lighting symbolizes the feeling of comfort generated by light.

Marking the very first collaboration between Carl Hansen & Søn and Danish designer Mads Odgård, the MO Series has been designed to fit seamlessly with the wider collection. Simple lines and rounded shapes take their cues from nature, guided by the sun’s illuminating form and comforting light.

The result of a study in light technology and the ways in which light can create a sense of security and comfort in individuals, Mads Odgård’s pared-back ceiling, floor, table and wall lamps let light shine through minimalist shapes with stabilizing cylindrical arms and hemispherical shades that illuminate spaces from every direction.

Mads Odgård

b. 1960

Mads Odgård has always had a love for straight lines, right angles, and geometric shapes. This love shines through in his professional design work, the interior design of his own home and when landscaping his garden. If he doesn’t know where to begin when creating a new design, he simply starts by drawing a straight line. This minimalist mindset is evident in Mads Odgård’s design portfolio, which includes the lamps of the MO Series – his first collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn.
