Vicky’s favourite space in her home is the kitchen. The kitchen has remained unchanged since Vicky moved in because it had a special atmosphere which she wanted to keep.

"I love cooking and prefer eating in the kitchen rather than the dining room, because it feels more intimate in the small space. Friends and family often gather here in the evenings - it’s usually where the best conversations happen.”

In the intimate space of the small kitchen, Vicky often cooked weekend breakfasts when the children were little - those are some of her dearest memories.

“The kitchen is, in many ways, the heart of the home - a place to begin the day slowly and with presence.”

“I have a deep love for Danish design and have collected several Wishbone Chairs over the years. I take good care of my furniture, but I also think patina is beautiful — I like when things show signs of being used.”

Some of Vicky’s Wegner chairs are inherited from her grandparents. The chairs are worn, but the thought of her grandparents sitting in them every morning, drinking coffee keeps her from doing repairments.

“It gives the furniture a soul and a story that makes it even more valuable.”

“I truly appreciate fine craftsmanship. It reminds me of how I think about clothing: one good cashmere sweater, well cared for, can bring far more joy than several that don’t last. Things with history create warmth and character - both in the home and in the wardrobe.”
