Nanna and her husband bought the CH338 Table by Hans J. Wegner when their son was born eleven years ago. Back then, they lived in a smaller home and liked the CH338 table because it is adjustable.

“Back then we didn’t have the extra leaf that’s now a permanent part of the table, so it was small and intimate when we were just three. Now we’re talking about adding another leaf, because I love having enough space for homework, meals, drawing, and puzzles all at once.”

Around the table, a mix of different chairs reflects the importance of compromising and making space for personal preferences. If it were up to Nanna, the PK1 Chair would be all around the table, but because of her husband’s love for the Wishbone Chair, they now have a mix of different iconic chairs.

“I can’t quite bring myself to insist on my own choice, because there’s something charming about everyone having their own chair. It’s interesting how personal our sense of a “good chair” can be.”

“Functionality is important to me when choosing materials. I love how wood and leather develop a patina over time. The designer or the specific period isn’t what matters most — I’m drawn to beautiful pieces because of their form, material, and color.”

“Aside from the quiet moments alone at the dining table, my favourite spot is without doubt the garden. The Børge Mogensen bench and table on the terrace make the perfect outdoor office through spring, summer, and autumn. I love following the rhythm of the seasons — sprouting, blooming, decaying, and rest — and then it all begins again. It’s the best place to be.”
