“In our country home, tactility and function guide every choice. Living with few things somehow makes each piece carry more meaning, and everything is used daily. Therefore, every object — whether held, touched, or sat on — embodies a sensibility and simple function.” 

Between two sections of the house, the couple created a covered terrace that has become their favourite place to spend time. 

“It’s where you first arrive and where the seasons seem to stretch a little longer. It almost functions like a gentle gateway for nature to flow through the house.” 

Børge Mogensen’s lightweight and foldable outdoor furniture embodies functionality and simplicity. The couple move the furniture around the grounds, which allows them to enjoy family meals on the terrace and at different spots in the garden. 

“At the end of the season, we fold them up and hang them indoors, where they rest until we return.” 

“The Cuba Chair by the self-taught designer Morten Gøttler is one of those pieces I can never imagine parting with. Thomas gave it to me some years ago, and since then it has been everything — a nursing chair, a resting place for a guest who dozed off at my 30th birthday, a quiet corner for reading. Today it resides in our country home, where our son often curls up in it with a book, giving the chair yet another chapter in its story.”
