Designed by Morten Gøttler in 1997, the MG501 Cuba Chair is a sculptural, foldable lounge chair. Reimagined for outdoor use in untreated teak with a tight, weather-resistant flat-woven rope seat, the Cuba Chair Outdoor brings a sculptural, contemporary aesthetic to gardens, balconies, and terraces. The chair is crafted from teak wood, which may naturally release oils into the woven seat and backrest to a greater or lesser extent. As a result, minor visual variations may be present upon delivery. When the chair is used outdoors, any oil residue will gradually be washed away by rain and weather exposure and will, over time, no longer be visible. The price reduction is solely due to this cosmetic characteristic. The chair’s quality, comfort, functionality and durability are not affected. Morten Gøttler (b.1944) is a Danish designer with a unique appreciation of materials, form and functionality. Throughout his career, he has managed to combine comfort and function in an aesthetic whole with an eye for detail.
