Where can I buy your furniture?
Carl Hansen & Søn furniture is available from selected retailers worldwide, in our own flagship stores, and online via authorized web shops. Use the retailer search on our website to find your nearest store, or click here. Furniture can also be ordered directly online, where a wide selection of classic Danish design icons is available for both private and commercial customers.
How do I contact you?
We are happy to help you with any questions you may have about your order, our product range, shipping, or similar matters. We strive to respond to your email within five business days. Our phones are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

How long is the delivery time?
The expected delivery times for individual items are listed on the respective product pages. If no delivery time is listed for a product, you can normally expect a delivery time of up to approx. 15 weeks for new furniture.
Your order confirmation will indicate a week. Please note that this is the expected week of dispatch from our warehouse, not the final delivery date to you.
When your order is ready for dispatch, our transport partner will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery time. You therefore do not need to worry about the carrier turning up unannounced.
How much does delivery cost?
At Carl Hansen & Søn, delivery costs vary depending on your country, the size and weight of your order, and the chosen delivery method. Shipping fees are calculated individually and displayed at checkout before your purchase is finalized.

Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can cancel your order as long as it has not yet been shipped or put into production. Contact us as soon as possible at webshop@carlhansen.dk or the retailer where you ordered your furniture to find out about the options.
Please note that custom-made or special order items often cannot be canceled once production has begun. In such cases, please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.
What payment methods do you accept?
When making a purchase at carlhansen.com, you can pay using Credit card, Visa and Mastercard. When making a card payment, the amount will not be deducted from your card until the item is shipped. For special items produced on order, we draw payment when execution commences.
Invoice received
When you receive an invoice from us, it means that your order has been shipped from our warehouse. The invoice is sent for your information and for use in your own accounting.
There is no need for you to take any action unless otherwise agreed. Receipt of the invoice does not mean that payment must be made at a specific time, nor does it indicate that there are any problems with your payment.
What materials do you use for the furniture?
Carl Hansen & Son manufactures furniture from carefully selected, high-quality natural materials. Primarily FSC™-certified solid wood such as oak, walnut, ash, and teak is used. In addition, durable materials such as natural wicker, leather, and textiles are used, all of which are selected with a focus on aesthetics and longevity.
Is your wood FSC® certified?
Yes, at Carl Hansen & Søn, we use FSC®-certified wood for the vast majority of our production. This means that the wood comes from responsible forestry, where consideration is given to the environment, biodiversity, and the people who work in and live off the forests. FSC certification is part of our overall sustainability strategy and our ambition to create furniture with respect for nature and future generations.
Where is the furniture manufactured?
Our furniture is primarily produced at our own facilities in Gelsted on Funen, Denmark. Here, we combine classic craftsmanship with modern production technology to ensure the highest quality. We have proud Danish craftsmanship traditions that we cherish and carry on through every piece of furniture we produce. A few products or components are manufactured by carefully selected partners in Europe and Vietnam who meet our strict requirements for quality and responsibility.
How do I know if my furniture is original?
All original furniture from Carl Hansen & Søn comes with an engraved mark or a brass plate with our logo and the designer's name, depending on the type and model of furniture. In addition, a certificate of authenticity is always included with your furniture, documenting the product's origin.
If you have any doubts about the authenticity of your furniture, please contact us directly with pictures and information about the piece, and we will help you confirm whether it is an original Carl Hansen & Søn.
What should I do if the paper string seems loose?
It is completely natural for the paper cord to stretch slightly over time, especially in the beginning. This is because the material adapts to use and molds itself to the body, which contributes to seating comfort. A certain amount of looseness therefore does not mean that there is anything wrong with the furniture.
If the cord feels abnormally loose or damaged, we recommend that you contact us or your dealer. In many cases, we can offer professional re-cordage carried out by our craftsmen, so that your furniture will last for many years to come.
How do I maintain my products?
Furniture from Carl Hansen & Søn is designed and manufactured to last for generations. Get the most enjoyment and longest possible life out of your furniture by treating it correctly.
Can you reupholster my furniture?
Yes, we offer reupholstering of selected models produced by Carl Hansen & Søn. Our specially trained craftsmen can replace the existing upholstery with new fabric or leather from our range, giving the furniture a new lease of life without compromising the original design.
Please contact us with information about the type of furniture, its age, and the desired material, and we will assess the options and get back to you with a quote. You can contact us directly via our contact form or through one of our authorized dealers.
Can I return the item?
The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you received your item. If you have ordered several different items in the same purchase, but they are delivered separately, the period runs from the day you receive the last item.
If you wish to cancel your purchase, you must notify us before the expiry of the cancellation period. You can send an email to webshop@carlhansen.dk
You cannot cancel your purchase by refusing to receive the item without also notifying us.
Returns must be made in the original packaging, and the item must be properly packaged so that it is not damaged during transport.
Cancellation of part of the purchase
If you have purchased several items from us, you have the option of returning one or more items, even if they were purchased in a single order.

How do I make a complaint?
If you experience a fault or defect in your Carl Hansen & Søn product, please contact the retailer where you purchased the furniture. If you purchased the product through our official online shop, you can contact us directly at Webshop@carlhansen.dk or read more here.
In accordance with the rules of the Sale of Goods Act, you as a consumer have a right of complaint for 24 months. For certain products, Carl Hansen & Søn offers better rights than those required by the Sale of Goods Act. You can read more about our extended warranty here.
How long is the warranty period?
We offer a 5-year warranty on most of our indoor furniture, covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Our outdoor furniture comes with a 2-year warranty.
The warranty is valid from the date of purchase and requires documentation in the form of a receipt or order confirmation. Please note that natural wear and tear, changes in the appearance of the wood, and improper use or maintenance are not covered.

Business and private customers
You can shop with us as both a business and private customer. However, purchases made as a business customer are subject to the same terms and conditions as private customers. This means, among other things, that the invoice is not VAT-free, and any VAT refunds or other VAT matters must therefore be handled by the customer in accordance with the applicable rules.
