Hans J. Wegner Explores Modular Comfort

Hans J. Wegner interprets adaptable lounging in the modular CH280 Sofa, from 1980. His familiar, organic expression reveals itself in an exposed, solid oak slatted frame, bringing to light his passion for natural materials and craftsmanship. Designed in three elements - an armrest section, a middle section and a footstool - the frame features an elegant, curved back that invites a gentle recline. Square legs lift the frame off the ground to give an impression of lightness and space. Generous upholstery creates an atmosphere for relaxed conversation in effortless comfort with removable hand-upholstered textile covers. Demonstrating easy versatility that adapts to all spaces, the CH280 Sofa can be configured with an unlimited number of modules using a simple coupling bracket.

In addition to the modular sofa, Carl Hansen & Søn introduces the CH086 Coffee Table to its growing collection of Wegner furniture. Also designed in 1980, the minimalist table honours the characteristics of FSC-certified solid oak in a space-saving design. Balancing clean, geometric lines in a rectangular base with the softly rounded, organic curves of the tabletop, the table features two extendable leaves on either side, attached with brushed stainless steel hinges.
