The E023 Embrace Outdoor Lounge Table reflects the light expression of the wider Embrace series in this poetic design inspired by a kite’s tether. Designed by EOOS, the table highlights the unique patina of untreated FSC™-certified solid teak, constructed by hand in a decorative daisy formation. A contrasting steel wire suspension forms the table leg, grounded by a solid teak base, which anchors the design. Available in a smaller radius of 48cm, the table is ideal for more compact spaces and complements the E018 Embrace Outdoor Lounge Chair.
The design studio EOOS, founded by Martin Bergmann (b. 1963), Gernot Bohmann (b. 1968) and Harald Gründl (b. 1967), enjoys a reputation for its poetic approach to design. By employing an analytical approach to the design process, the three designers have created a range of industrial and social designs that have garnered numerous awards and global recognition.
The Poetry of Teak and Steel
Since their first collaboration with Carl Hansen & Søn in 2015, the design studio EOOS has continued to develop a light and poetic typology that translates the supreme comfort and versatility of indoor lounging into a variety of outdoor settings. Influenced by the kinetic qualities of a kite in flight, the E023 Embrace Outdoor Lounge Table presents an intriguing interplay of untreated FSC™-certified, highly durable teak and cool steel wire. The table-top consists of 37 individually cut pieces of solid wood, which are sanded and mounted by hand in a daisy formation. Ideal for the outdoors, the dynamic qualities in the teak develop as it weathers from a warm orange to an elegant silver-grey. Sturdy, steel wire legs with a solid wood base give the table a lightness of form, merging outdoor functionality with the familiarity and comfort of indoor living. The table’s 48cm radius is ideal for smaller spaces, designed for use with the EO18 Embrace Outdoor Lounge Chair.
